Let us assume that the 7 days of creation are divided into the 6 days of creation itself and the 7th day of rest.
6 represents imperfection as it is a representation of humanity, it is not done, it is not final.
7 is perfect as it represents finality, it is done, God is fully whole and complete represented by 7.
There were only 12 tribes of Israel representing how they are only human.
There were only 12 main apostles, representing how they are still only human.
However, the multiple of 2 is indication of the dual testament, the old testament, and the new testament, or perhaps the time before salvation and the time after salvation.
There are 2 groups of 12 people, the 12 tribes and the 12 apostles, the 12 tribes are of the old era and the 12 apostles are those of the new era.
However, in the new testament, there are 6 x 12 at first, which equals 72, these 72 disciples are the imperfect ones, the human ones. The 7th group on the other hand is the perfect group, the divine group, the ones closest to God.
So 7 can be divided into the "imperfect" number 6 and the last number.
6 can be divided into 3 and 3 represents the trinity itself.
But why are there 2 groups of? Again the duality of the old and new, the bad and good.
The 2 groups of 3 probably represents the trinity of God and trinity of humanity.
The final 1, represents God uniting all the trinities into 1 again. (The day of rest)
Perfect
